Sounds like a plan that needs a plan. My phone number is in my bio. I help run a deli right now, and do not have good control of my schedule… so I have to plan ahead for all excursions.
Mr. Thacker,
I was wondering if you perhaps you did a painting of a lone tree by a fence back in 1975.
My uncle, Harold Berry, passed away several years ago and left me several paintings and sketches. This one is signed thacker ’75 ( small t). It is mostly black and white with some yellow around the ground area.
Thank you for your help.
Just found these wonderful paintings by Don Thacker. I am a native Virginian and take every opportunity I can to visit the Shenandoah Valley and river. I grew up on a tobacco farm in Pittlsylvania county VA. and still live there. This past weekend my husband and I took my oldest grandsons on a two day trip to see the Luray Caverns and the Valley. Took them fishing in the Shenandoah. They loved it as I always did. My day took us as children on Parkway excursions several times a year. After my children were born, my Moms family started a tradition of camping in a cow pasture on the Shenandoah each June. Aunts, Uncles and cousins spent 4 days together, slept in tents, cooked out in the open and built memories for years. What a wonderful way to get our children together and teach them to appreciate nature and our heritage.

Wasn’t me, and I’m not aware of any relatives on the Thacker side that might have done the painting. I’d love to see it. Good luck with your search!
